Eugene-based business DLX partners with U.S. Department of Defense for humanitarian aid and assistance in response to COVID-19
EUGENE / JANUARY 17, 2021 – Eugene-based company Deployed Logix (DLX) partnered with U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) to provide COVID-19 assistance and humanitarian aid by delivering shelters and desperately needed medical supplies to 11 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. SOUTHCOM, a division of the U.S. Department of Defense, is hard at work to aid U.S. Embassies across the Southern Americas with donated pandemic relief funded through their Humanitarian Aid Program (HAP).
This was a large-scale, international project that required collaboration between humanitarian organizations, healthcare institutions, multiple embassies, defense forces, and more to provide COVID-19 aid.
Receiving countries include: Costa Rica // Peru // Ecuador // El Salvador // Brazil // The Dominican Republic // Panama // Guatemala // Jamaica // Uruguay.
DLX was brought into this project to supply 24 complete field hospitals capable of housing up to 40 patients each. Most of the configurations came equipped with field generators and climate control units based on the needs of the host country. DLX coordinated with SOUTHCOM to ensure each hospital was delivered in a timely manner, deployment-ready. DLX also provided certified training to the receiving institutions in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
DLX was founded in 2012 and continues to be the leader in American-made, rapidly deployable disaster preparedness products around the world. Its flagship shelter, the ASAP®, sets up in 60 seconds with just two people.
