Hurricane Irma – It didn’t take long this summer for another large scale hurricane to hit the caribbean and US. This time Hurricane Irma grew quickly in intensity as it made landfall in Florida. Many responders had just returned back to their home states after deployment to Hurricane Harvey before they made preparation for another round of rescue operations in the State of Florida. Once again, the DLX ASAP Shelter was there to assist the tremendous response efforts of the many local, state, and federal agencies and first responders.

Oregon Wildfires – Horse Prairie Fire

This has been a very hot and wild summer for large scale disasters. At the same time as disaster relief efforts are under way in Texas following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey there has been little to no relief for the tenacity of wildfires in the Western United States. Here in our home State of Oregon there are currently 13 active wildfires burning up our forests.

Deployed Logix was able to assist the Oregon Department of Forestry with several DLX ASAP Shelters at the Horse Prairie Fire in Southern Oregon.

Hurricane Harvey – For those in the industry of disaster relief and preparedness it is always a “matter of when and not if ” the next major hurricane will strike. For Texas the last hurricane to do so was Hurricane Celia back on August 3rd, 1970. However, this August 25th 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall along the Middle Texas Coast. Harvey exploded rapidly from a tropical depression to a major hurricane in less than 36 hours.

Thousands of responders from neighbors to the National Guard responded to assist residents in Texas, Louisiana and the Caribbean. The Deployed Logix ASAP Shelter was also there being utilized by many different federal, state and local agencies. Our customers and first responders are the best of the best and we all owe them our gratitude for the many hours and sacrifices they give to be prepared for their rescue efforts.
