On April 25, 2015 the Nepal earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake) killed nearly 9,000 people and injured nearly 22,000. With a magnitude of 7.8, its epicenter was east of the Gorkha Districe at Barpak, Gorkha. It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal-Bihar Earthquake.
Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless with entire villages flattened, across many districts of the country. We are proud that the ASAP® Rapid Shelter Systems were deployed along with the Fairfax County Search & Rescue Team INSARAG and Office of Foreign Disaster Aid (OFDA).
